Local Mission Activities

There are 18 Mission Parishes within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Without CCA donations, these parishes would not survive. These parishes are anchors in their communities.

Serving a Unique Community

“St. Martin of Tours Parish is a unique place. Our parish has five distinctive communities: English, Spanish, Brazilian, Q’eqchi and the Neocatechumenal Way. Each Mass is just as it would be in their native country. The parish supports each community but also helps them understand our traditional Mass so everyone can continue to work together. Each of these groups not only proclaims the word of God, but they also help to bring new people into the Church.

The mission of St. Martin of Tours Parish is to support people no matter where they come from. This parish provides food, shelter, employment, and even healthcare to those parishioners in need. Our food pantry mainly comes from donations from the parishioners. They support us with different ethnic foods because we are a part of so many different cultures. We help a lot of families.

When you support the Catholic Charities Appeal, you are helping Mission Parishes like St. Martin of Tours. Our parish is an anchor in our community – we could not provide the vital services to our parishioners without your donations. Every little bit will help and make a difference.
